2017 KAIST 발명 어워드
1. 대회 개요
□ 추진목적 교내 학생들의 발명 및 특허에 대한 관심을 높이고, 우수 발명에 대한 권리화 지원 추진 □ 추진기간 2017년 10월 18일 ~ 2017년 12월 6일 (신청서 접수에서 시상식까지)
2. 참가자격 및 신청방법
□ 참가자격 교내 대학(원)생으로 개인 또는 팀으로 참가 가능
□ 대회부문 자유 부문 : 주변의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 아이디어를 구체화하여 발명 제안서로 제출
□ 신청방법 ㅁ신청기간 : 2017.10.18. ~ 2017.11.19 ◦ 신청방법 : 제출서류 작성 후 이메일 제출 (blast@kaist.ac.kr) ◦ 제출서류 : 참가신청서(별첨1), 개인정보 수집․이용 동의서(별첨2), 양도증(별첨3), 발명제안서(별첨4)
□ 유의사항 ◦ 제출된 아이디어는 특허 또는 실용신안의 대상인 발명 또는 고안에 해당되어야 함 ◦ 국․내외 유사 대회에서 수상한 동일‧유사 아이디어는 출품 불가 ◦ 팀 참가인 경우, 팀원 모두 개인정보 수집․이용 동의서를 작성해야 함

□ 대회일정
※ 대회일정은 주최 측 사정에 따라 변경될 수 있습니다.
□ 심사방식 ◦ 1차 심사 : 제출서류를 기반으로, 외부 전문가에 의한 서류 심사 ◦ 2차 심사 : 발표 심사 후 순위 발표 및 시상식 개최 발표 시간은 팀당 15분(발표 10분, 질의응답 5분)
□ 심사기준 ◦ 참신성 : 아이디어의 창의성 및 신규성 ◦ 우수성 : 아이디어의 유용성 ◦ 실현 가능성 : 아이디어의 실제 현실화 가능성 ◦ 사업화 가능성 : 아이디어의 경제성 및 상업성
4. 수상자 특전(안)
□ 시상내용 상금
※ 모든 수상자에게 KAIST 총장 명의 상장 발급(수상팀별 1개)
□ 유의사항 ◦ 특허 비용 지원(국내, 해외)은, 양도증(별첨3)을 제출함으로써 ‘특허를 받을 수 있는 권리’를 KAIST에 양도하는 경우에 한하여 지원됨 ◦ 해외 특허출원 지원 선정평가는 2018년 1월 말에 예정되어 있으며, 선정 시 해외 특허출원 비용이 지원됨. 다만, 평가 결과에 따라서는 선정되지 않을 수도 있으며, 이 경우 해외 특허출원 비용이 지원되지 않음 ◦ 대회 출품 전 이미 출원 또는 등록된 특허‧실용신안은 본인의 발명 또는 고안이라 하더라도 수상 불가능 ◦ 심사 결과에 따라, 적합한 발명이 없는 경우 선정하지 않을 수 있음 ◦ 상금은 소득세 공제 후 지급됨

- To inspire interest in inventions and patents throughout our student body
- Offer support to claim rights for outstanding inventions

October 18, 2017 ~ December 06, 2017 (from registration to award ceremony)
Participant Qualifications and Application Method
□ Qualifications
Must be a KAIST undergraduate or graduate student
May enter the competition alone or in a group.
□ Division
Freestyle :Submit an invention proposal after refining an idea that can be utilized in solving problems in our surroundings.
□ Application Procedure
- Application Period : October 18, 2017 ~ November 19, 2017
- Application Method: Submit documents for submission via e-mail(blast@kaist.ac.kr)
- Required Documents for Submission: Registration Application (Attachment 1) Use & Collection Personal Information Agreement Form (Attachment 2) Assignment (Attachment 3), Invention Proposal (Attachment 4)
□ Conditions to be aware of
- The submitted idea must be inventions or inventions subject to patents or utility models.
- May not submit identical or similar ideas that have been awarded in domestic and/or international competitions.
- If participating as a team, all members must submit the Use & Collection Personal Information Agreement Form

□ Evaluation Method
- 1st Round Evaluation : Third-party expert evaluation of the submitted document
- 2nd Round Evaluation : Evaluation result announcement followed by ranking announcement and the awards ceremony
Each team will get 15 minutes to present (10 minute presentation, 5 minute Q&A session)
□ Evaluation Criteria
- Originality : Creativity and novelty of idea
- Excellence : Usefulness of idea
- Actualization Possibility : Idea’s realistic possibility of actualization
- Commercialization Possibility : Economic feasibility and commercialization of idea
