Established in 1971, KAIST has been leading Korea’s development in science and technology for 40 over years and has grown to become a globally prominent research-centered university. Achieving research results that receive attention globally within the science community would not have been possible without the passion and effort put forth by our professors and students. Also, this would not have been possible without the support of the government and endless love and support from the public.
KAIST has been constantly offering support to the nurturing of talent, fundamental and applied research, and industry. KAIST prides itself for having played a critical role in the nations development and economic growth; however this is only the beginning. With the foundation of KAIST’s research and education capacity, it will become a hub for innovative ideas and technology that will lead the nation through to the creation of new industries in the 4th industrial revolution that is approaching.
Industries will be able to innovate continuously by utilizing KAIST’s technological and human resources, and through university-industry cooperation the education and research capacity needed industrial settings will be strengthened. For this reason university-industry cooperation will creat a social infrastructure and become a foundation in a knowledge-based society that allows for the securement of competitiveness of corporations, industry, and the nation. For this purpose, the Office of University-Industry Cooperation will innovate technology commercialization and aid industry in overcoming difficulties and solving problems. We will work to become a mutually beneficial partner of corporations. The Office of University-Industry Cooperation will workd endlessly to share and spread the values of KAIST.
